During a complete eye exam, our eye doctors will not only determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses, but will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together as a team and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health.
The AOA also recommends an annual eye exam for any adult that wears eyeglasses or contacts. If you don’t normally need vision correction, you still need an eye exam every year. Doctors often recommend more frequent examinations for adults with diabetes, high blood pressure and other disorders, because many diseases can have an impact on vision and eye health.

Retinal Imaging
Retinal Imaging is most commonly used to examine glaucoma, but it could also be used for growths such as retinal freckles or diabetic retinopathy.
When we need to get a closer look at conditions of the retina and the optic nerve we use Retinal Imaging. In this examination, the digital camera takes high resolution images of the inside structure of the eye, the retina. This examination takes only a couple of minutes.

How does it work?
You place your forehead and chin in a headrest and stare at a point of a light target. Then you will see a bright flash like from a camera.
The technician will view your eye in a monitor. When our doctors receives the image, he or she will review it with you. If you have done this before he or she can compare it with the earlier images and easily see if there are any changes.
We offer Retinal Imaging as an optional yearly screening test for everyone who wants to monitor the health of their eyes. The cost is $30.00.
(Please note- In some cases we need to dilate the pupil for this examination.)

Contact Lens Fitting
A good contact lens fit starts with a thorough eye exam to ensure the most up-to-date prescription and rule out any pre-existing conditions that could interfere with contact lens wear.
We will determine the best fitting lens based on your lifestyle needs, the shape and health of your eye. In most cases, you'll have the opportunity to try lenses on the same day as your exam. You can even go home with a few samples before making a final decision.
We follow up the initial fitting and then make any necessary changes in fit or materials to get you the best possible fit. We teach all our patients proper contact lens care and also possible consequences if proper care is not taken.
